Brace yourself, folks, this entry is one of many that is dominated by cheering so awkward, nothing will make you click for the Stop button faster. Yeah, the production value and effort level are so ghetto, a dog ran through the background.  Yeah, this was the highlight of the video.

Hopeful #2 - Marisa

You know, the problem pretty much every non-Marisa girl in this competition is that they don’t seem to give a hoot about cheerleading. Marisa quickly gushes that cheerleading is her life. This is never a desirable trait for any person no matter the context or level of hyperbole. This trait is so ill-favored that even most major cheerleading units require their girls to have a life outside of the sidelines be it being a full time student/employee or at least the ability to say something non-stupid about a current event.

It’s probably unfair that I focus on this half second sound byte alone as Marisa speaks for like 20 seconds here, but it’s such an outrageous claim that I couldn’t not spent too much time on it. This is particularly noteworthy once you see what comes next.

Marisa performs a cheer. With her bold claim still fresh in mind, I was expecting something mesmerizing, or at least great.  Upon finding out what was to come was neither, I felt like lending her a hand as if I was her coach.  As if she's able to hear me. Most girls who like cheerleading have a range of motions beyond moving one’s hands and feet 18 inches apart and together. Most girls who like cheerleading move with more stamina than that. Most girls who like cheerleading can kick higher than that. Most girls who like cheerleading know all that screaming isn’t impressive. Most girls who like cheerleading have an eye for fashion that would not land them on the ‘worst dressed’ pages of tabloids if famous.

Either Marisa has truly wasted her life of cheerleading or her declaration had more exaggeration than would ever qualify as remotely truthful.
