I wonder if it was revealed that Jim Edmonds was going to be the cover boy beforehand?  I think it was in a press release.

Hopeful #18 - Sondra

Another California girl. Just what this competition needs. Plus, she just spends her time standing there talking in another obviously no-effort effort. Again, the competition has enough of these girls. Numerous questions abound: why is she doing this in what appears to be a beyond public (busy) place? Why is she standing next to a restroom? Why is she holding a piece of paper with the number one on it? You’re number 18, Sondra, not one, Tiffany is number one.

My hostile inquisitiveness mitigates a tad when I find her motives are primarily monetary in nature. Actually, she plan on using the five grand to help her family out, something none of the other ladies say they’ll do. That’s where the mollification of hostility sets in. There’s also a cardboard cutout of contest judge Jim Edmonds in the background, which was a nice touch, which is probably the only one they could find, which probably explains the otherwise unwise location selection.
