The background shift in action.  The ship is in the exact same position, the starting position, in both pictures.  Hard to appreciate this without wadding through the moments of dullness and incapacity of Action 52.  Of course, the creators of the game were probably trying to do something different all together, like an animated pornographic background, and in attempting that got this.

Exactly like Meteor, with a larger ship and a background that randomly shifts its pixels in some direction every few seconds.  Both of these, of course, the powers behind this game would consider innovations.  Sorry this phrase appears so often in this special, but this is the last time.  Technically arguably true since other other game really does them.  You then some to see why every single meaningful shooter in history, and even those of no meaningfulness, use a ship roughly the size of pinpoint.  Oh and that background shifty thing is also an impressive graphical novelty - if this was 1986.  But it's 1993, and nothing short of Mode 7 rotation or blast processing bullshit will impresses us.
