24) Mousetrap What do you think this is? An intricate platformer with long, meandering levels involving innovative traps that test your mind and reflexes? Kind of like a video game adaptation of the board game from this time? No? How about a game where you control a mouse in a room where cheese in strewn about and you gotta catch 'em all without bumping into deadly-to-the-touch cats moving across the room? I'm actually quite glad we didn't get some woefully failed attempt at the former guess, and Active just stuck to what they can do: make simple and boring, but playable titles hardly suitable to be called games. Your mouse moves quick, and thus some of the earlier levels are over within 20 seconds of beginning them. Some challenge abounds when you need to get cheese very close to the edges of the screen, this becomes especially considerable as the stages go up because the odds a cat will come running quickly at you increases dramatically. As with much of the rest of this collection, nothing goes terribly wrong, but what goes right might not exactly be worth going at all. |
