22) Echo Remember that game Simon, you know, like from the 80s? The one with four panels with four different colors and four different sounds? Some would call us suckers for having paid $20 for such a simple trinket, but during its peak, Simon was as captivating as Super Mario Galaxy is today. Now Echo has come, with that exact same concept. Unfortunately, this is coming in 1993. Simon games are now a dime a dozen at garage sales, and we're simply expecting more from our entertainment experiences. So it becomes very hard to pass this off as an entire game. Adding to this is the fact this is very much a watered-down Simon. You know how in Simon the colors would flash and the sounds would buzz at different speeds? You know like 'beep beep... beep... beep beep ............. beep.' Echo gets all up in there like 'beep......... beep ......... beep ......... beep' or more accurately, 'car honk ........ hammer ......... bleep ......... dog bark.' Speed doesn't increase as the levels go up, only the amount you have to memorize does. Once again, it does what it sets out to do with competence, but it's still about as fun as waiting at the grocery store. |
