28) Cry Baby Easily one of the best games on this thing. First off, the music, "Twinkle Twinkle," although it plays for the duration, it fits the setting (Baby must avoid every possible household hazard in the books and dangerous kidnappers) awfully well and it's not likely to annoy like a common Action 52 tune. It won't please like a tune you listen to on purpose, we're probably looking at something more like regular video game music here. Nothing spectacular for most games, but very spectacular for Action 52. Everything looks crisp and clear - decent even. The game plays fluidly and smoothly, in fact, Cry Baby is probably as close as we have thus far seen to an actual programming victory on Action 52 as I didn't find any significant technical/data coordination mishaps here. If enough games like this ended up on this collection, it might give the impression the folks at Active knew what they're doing. Granted, Cry Baby isn't even in the same country as fun or even non-monotonous, but when something this technically competent comes around on the Action 52 conglomerate, it's as monumental as the Sears Tower. |
